The Framework

The foundation of Johnston Framework is empowering A/E/C technical professionals with the skills to excel in team interviews and business development conversations. We teach this strategic and repeatable methodology to our clients so they can build it into their own project pursuit processes.

Johnston Framework uses Accelerated Learning strategies backed by the experience of coaching thousands of technical professionals. Participants learn by doing and make new habits quickly that lead to long-term improvements during interviews and other key communication situations.

All of Johnston Framework’s programs are based on empowering people to be the most powerful, effective version of themselves—and recognizing that will be different for everyone.

Panel Research

JTG has coached more than 270 shortlisted teams of architects, engineers, and contractors for interviews for projects in both the public and private sectors.

To achieve these results, Johnston Framework surveyed more than 120 experienced selection panel members in person. Many of these panel members have served on at least 20 panels and represented projects in both the public and private sectors. We asked them how they evaluate proposals, how they determine the interview format, how they decide what questions to ask in the Q&A, the biggest mistakes teams make, how panels make their final decision, and more.

We use this information to drive the teams we are coaching toward winning strategies and to arm them with confidence.

I have a highly skilled team of engineering and administrative staff who aspired to build upon their skillsets with great presentation skills. Scott provided an in-house workshop, where our staff had the opportunity to learn from his expertise. Along with a streamlined curriculum that provides clear-cut presentation guidelines, Scott got to know each individual and assisted them in overcoming unique presentation challenges. It has been gratifying to see my team’s confidence grow along with their skills.”
